As regards Academy policy on funding scientific programmes organized by other agencies it was decided that the Programmes on which NAAS invests financial resources should result from its own identification exercise. Such an exercise should be initiated by the Academy on its own as well as in collaboration with learned Societies in Agricultural Sciences and identify high quality programmes of relevance to avoid mushrooming of the routine.

Support for travel to participate in international Conferences.

This scheme is intended to give travel support to scientists for attending international conferences, seminars, symposia etc. in the field of agriculture. Under this scheme a total of 107 scientists were offered the assistance during the last seven years.

However, in view of the decision of the Executive Council of the Academy to keep the Travel Grant Scheme in abeyance till further decision, this scheme is not being operated at present.
