Educated at Government Higher Secondary School, Rakhi Shahpur, 1954-65; Dayanand College, Hisar, Panjab University, 1965-69; CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, 1969-75; B.Sc. 1969; M.Sc. 1971; Ph.D. 1975; UNESCO Fellowship, USA (1979), Rockefeller Foundation Fellowship, Canada (1992-1994), Rockefeller Visiting Fellowship, Canada( 1998-2001).
