Born in district Azamgarh, U.P. on 20 July, 1962; Graduated from Veterinary College, Mathura, CSA University of Agriculre & Technology, Kanpur (UP), ( now DUVASU), 1984; M.V.Sc and Ph.D. from Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar (UP) in 1987 and 1990, respectively.

Research Areas: Veterinary Pathology (Infectious diseases pathology) - Veterinary Pathology, Immunology and Molecular Microbiology; Immunopathobiology and diagnosis of infectious diseases especially paratuberculosis, clostridiosis, salmonellosis, glanders, PPR, equine infectious anaemia, equine influenza, bluetongue, equine herpes, etc; Pioneering contributions on immunology, molecular pathogenesis and diagnosis of Johne’s disease; One patent; Handled 11 externally funded projects from NAIP, National Fund, AINP-BT of ICAR, ICMR, DBT, OIE, etc; Developed several diagnostic technologies, animals models, new concepts in infectious diseases; Published about 140 original research papers in high impact factor National and International journals; >100 papers in conference/symposia, expert lectures, lead papers, book chapters; four books including one on PPR, four manual and edited three conference proceedings.
