(a) Rating of Scientific Journals

A need was felt in the Academy for critically assessing the published work of the nominees for election to the Fellowship of the Academy and for developing a transparent and quantifiable mechanism that avoids arbitrariness in assessment. The primary purpose of rating of scientific journals by the Academy is to decide the weightage to the journals for providing an objective and numerical criteria to publications for the purpose of screening the applicants for admission to Fellowship/Associateship of Academy thereby bringing uniformity by all the Sectional Committees across the Sections in evaluating their published work.
